United Services Union - Information Service Centre
The United Services Union (USU) has approximately 40,000 members and represents local government, energy, airline and clerical and administrative employees throughout NSW.
Many thousands of workers have chosen to join the USU, allowing us to provide membership services including industrial guidance, protection and a number of significant benefits to our members.
The USU has created a number of additional benefits including discounts which if utilised could potentially recoup the small financial contribution your membership constitutes.
Your union works on various campaigns aimed at improving the quality of life for our members and their families.
Services We Offer
The USU provides members with the opportunity to obtain advice from the Union's Solicitors on:
- The purchase and sale of land or home
- Mortgage loans
- Probate and wills
- Financing enquiries
- Conveyancing matters
- Criminal law
- Litigation generally
The Union supports members and their families through the Phil Smyth Memorial Scholarship program. Scholarships are awarded in four categories. The 1997 Annual Conference resolved to allocate funds to honour the contribution to the MEU, and in particular the education and training of Union members, by our esteemed colleague and friend the late Phil Smyth.
