Scholarships
The Australian Taxation Office has approved tax deductibility for an initiative of the TDA National Board to launch an Australia-wide technical & further education scholarships philanthropy foundation.
The National Board of TDA has registered the TDA National Scholarships Foundation, with plans to launch the Foundation next year, with a special event dinner planned in Sydney, for 1st March 2013.
The purpose is to make every effort to support TAFE students under the proposed COAG-approved National Entitlement to Training, which will widen student income contingent loans (ICL) in technical and further education courses.
Tuition Assistance
On 26 May 2011, Senator the Hon Chris Evans, Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations, approved the extension of the membership eligibility provisions of the TDA Australian Students Tuition Assurance Scheme (ASTAS).
