Strathbogie Shire Of
From the clear, calm waters of our lakes and rivers to the stunning views from the heights of our ranges, charming villages, fine food and wine - welcome to our beautiful Shire.
We have diverse and picturesque communities served by townships such as Euroa, Nagambie, Violet Town, Avenel, Longwood, Ruffy and Strathbogie with a population of approximately 10,000.
Our Vision: A vibrant, diverse and caring community, building a sustainable future with enhanced liveability in a secure and stimulating environment.
Our Mission: To deliver the Vision for Strathbogie Shire in partnership with our community & to strive for excellence in planning, delivering & managing community services & facilities.
Community and Residents
We are serious about our commitment to removing barriers & increasing opportunities for people with a disability. We have recently finished installing seven recharge points across the community. These points are for people who use electric scooters or wheelchairs to recharge when out & about if they are concerned they won't have enough charge to get home
The Strathbogie Shire is a great place to bring up a family, or to start a new one! We have beautiful fresh air & open spaces, great schools, excellent maternal child health, active sporting clubs, pre-schools, & we are only a short drive to major hospitals & specialists if needed.
We can't take the credit for our natural beauty - but we can proudly boast about it.
There is an abundance of natural attractions to be experienced in the Strathbogie Shire.
The Goulburn River system, Nagambie Lakes, Gooram Falls, the cascading Polly McQuinns, & unique granite rock formations in the Strathbogie Ranges are just some of the magnificent array of scenery on offer.
Development and Sustainability
Our Shire is a progressive & vibrant destination to live, work & invest. We are a pro-development organisation that recognises the importance of ensuring our operations, programs & activitiesare conducted with future sustainability in mind. This has fostered & supported many new developments currently being established within our Shire
