STOCKTRANS is major provider of cattle transport services to the Australian feedlot and meat processing industry.This company is a division of parent company JS transport group which is owned and operated by the sepos family near Newcastle in the Hunter Valley.

Stocktrans started its humble beginnings during 1988 at the north coast town of Grafton NSW .

The first unit was a second hand Mack

superliner and 2 deck cattle float which company founder Joe Sepos purchased at auction from Chinchilla in Queensland.This truck carried cattle from various NSW saleyards into Gilbertsons who at that time were the owners of the Grafton abattior. During the following 2-3 years the business had increased to 6 units with an office and workshop facility next to the railway line in south Grafton.

Non bruise cattle trailers

Being the prime contractor of finished cattle for many major feedlots and meat processors, Stocktrans understands the emphasis of a non-bruise / stress free transport service. For this reason stocktrans only uses 2 deck purpose built cattle trailers which are specifically designed to ensure a bruise free ride for cattle travelling to the abattiors.

Late model prime movers

Stocktrans runs a modern fleet of prime movers primarily made up of Western Star 4800FXC's and Kenworth K104's .All vehicles have mobile telephones fitted with CDMA coverage. The engines used are mainly Detroit 14L's OR Cat C15's set at 550HP and are all built to last with minimum weight ratings of 70 tonne .
