St Aloysius' College is a Catholic independent day school, for boys from Year 3 to Year 12, situated in the shadow of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The College is conducted by the Society of Jesus.
The College aspires to assist and support parents in the formation of their sons in the Ignatian tradition of education, producing 'men for others' who are balanced and motivated, integrating spiritual maturity and academic excellence with a rounded social and physical development; men of competence, conscience and compassion.
Jesuit education tries to develop in students an ability to know the reality around them and to evaluate it critically. We hope our students will understand the experience of those who are marginalised and become agents for change in the society in which they live. We want our graduates to have a sense that they should reach out into the community, not only to the extended College community of parents, Old Boys and friends, but also to the poor and socially disadvantaged in Australia and abroad. We want them to be able to listen to those in need and to have skills to change structures that cause suffering. We hope those educated in the Ignatian tradition would work for and with the poor.
