Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation that has been providing specialist family and relationship services across Melbourne and Victoria since 1948. Our vision is for positive, respectful, safe and fulfilling relationships for all Australians. We have over 70 years’ experience supporting Victorians by providing a broad range of services including counselling, family dispute resolution (mediation), family violence, mental health, relationship skills education and other specialist services.
About Us

Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation, with no religious affiliations. We are committed to providing safe, inclusive and accessible services for all members of the community, regardless of religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, lifestyle choice, cultural background or economic circumstances.

We welcome Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, LGBTIQA+, and culturally and linguistically diverse community members as well as people with disability and people experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage.

Interpreters can be organised on request.

We believe that people.in all their diversity, have the right to live their lives safely and with dignity, with their families and within their communities, and to enjoy positive, respectful, safe and fulfilling relationships.

Our objective is to relieve the suffering, distress and helplessness of people experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage people so as to enhance their physical, social and emotional wellbeing.

We provide services from 18 locations and additional outreach sites across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. The corporate support team is based in Camberwell.

RAV acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of the lands and waterways of Australia. We support Aboriginal people’s right to self-determination and culturally safe services.

What other services do you provide?
We provide counselling; family dispute resolution (mediation); family violence prevention, response and recovery services; child and family services, relationship skills courses; mental health services; workplace services; and professional training, as well as a diverse range of specialised services and programs.
How much do services cost?
We are a not-for-profit community organisation and are committed to providing affordable, accessible services. We receive government funding for some of our services, however fees are charged for most of our services. When you contact us, we can discuss the fees that will apply for the service you’re interested in.
