Nambucca Heads
Moving to an aged care facility is an important decision which results in a number of changes affecting your life.
We will do our best to ensure this move is as easy as possible for you, supporting both you and your family as you make the decision and make the move to living with us.
Our staff are very committed to ensuring you get the best possible care and support you need. They are an excellent aged care team and dedicated to enhancing your sense of wellbeing.
About UsNVC began as Autumn Lodge Nursing Home, opening in 1978 at Macksville following considerable hard work and fundraising by members of the local community. The residential aged care services offered by Autumn Lodge grew over the years and currently comprise 61 low care places and 51 high care places. Within Autumn Lodge there is also a secure dementia unit. In 1993 we expanded the service to Nambucca Heads when a modern 40 place low care facility was opened at Riverside Gardens. Some thirteen years later this was followed in 2006 by a new 40 place high care facility at Riverside Gardens. As well as providing residential aged care services Autumn Lodge and Riverside Gardens offer a total of 60 self-care units.
Servicing ResidentsNVC exists to serve the needs of others. We serve people who are experiencing a decline in abilities due to ageing or older people whose support needs arise from an accident or illness. We provide this support through our residential care services.
We try to ensure that each person we serve has the opportunity and support to experience the best quality of life possible. It is the job of every staff member to help us achieve this and we expect every staff member to contribute to the best of their ability at all times. It is our belief that in this way the entire NVC team can provide the best possible service and care for you.
Philosophy & Core ValuesNVC's philosophy emerges from our tradition of community service and the belief that each one of us is worthy of unconditional love, acceptance and support. This love is not the soft wishy washy love of romantic movies.
It is the driving force that demands of us to provide the support and encouragement for each person to participate in life in ways they choose, in ways that enhance life quality according to them. This love is defined by our actions and our actions are shaped by our values and aims.
Support services are provided to people in a way that combines traditional practices with modern innovations developed within our organisation and taken from current best practices in use in the wider health care community. Our approach is to remain as flexible as possible, providing for the needs of each person to the best of our ability.
