About Us

We exist to help make an already great state, greater.

Established in 1932 as the Lotteries Commission and offering its first lottery in March 1933, Lotterywest is the official State lottery of Western Australia and is set up as a Government entity.

Every day Lotterywest gives Western Australians a chance to dream by playing a range of lottery games. As well as selling our games and handing out millions of prizes to winners, we are unique in Australia as the only lottery to directly support the community through our grants.

Every time you play Lotterywest games, you help support thousands of grants for not-for-profit organisations and local government authorities, as well as health, sports and arts sectors through our statutory funding.

Lotterywest has proudly supported the community for over 85 years and remains committed to our vision to build a better Western Australia together.

FAQs
What are the odds of winning?
The odds of winning vary for each game. For our most popular game Saturday Lotto, the odds of a Division 1 win in any single game panel is 1 in 8,145,060. The game with the highest odds of winning any prize is Powerball at 1 in 43.9. Visit each of the games information pages to find out the odds at various prize levels.
Why do some games jackpot?
For some games, if there is no Division 1 winner for a draw the provisional prize pool is rolled over to the next game, increasing the jackpot. Saturday Lotto, OZ Lotto, Powerball and Super66 are all examples of such jackpotting games.
How can I be part of a syndicate?
Visit a Lotterywest store to buy a share in a syndicate. Simply ask what shares are available for the game you want to play or how much you would like to spend. If you have a Lotterywest membership, make sure you register your ticket against it so your winnings are automatically paid out to it. You can also create your own syndicate with friends and family. Start by downloading the Syndicate Planner and select the game and ticket options you want to play.
