Eyelid Surgery

This surgery is termed blepharoplasty, and can be carried out alone, or with other facial procedures such as facelifts or brow-lifts. It can repair upper eyelids that droop, or puffy bags beneath the eyes. Both these features can make one look older and more tired than is actually the case, and can also impact on vision.

What this operation won't do is remove 'crow's feet' and other wrinkles, nor will it affect dark rings under the eyes, or raise drooping eyebrows.

People from Asian ethnic backgrounds may find that they can develop an upper eyelid crease, but they should not expect this procedure to remove all trace of their racial descent.

Dr Cary Kailis - F.R.A.C.S.

After completing medical school in 1977, Dr Kailis pursued an interest in head and neck surgery & qualified as a surgeon in 1985.

Following that, he visited the United Kingdom. He was the senior registrar at the Royal Glasgow Infirmary and Cannisburn Hospital for 12 months. Subsequently, he completed his cosmetic surgery Fellowship training in Harley Street London.

He has also trained in Italy and the United States. He regularly attends international conventions, which keep him up to date with the latest surgical techniques, and is regularly invited to lecture and teach his own skills at these meetings.

Now a cosmetic surgeon and in private practice for over 20 years, Dr Kailis is located at 19 Colin Street, West Perth, Western Australia.
