Sleep Services Australia is owned by highly qualified respiratory and sleep physician Dr Linda Schachter, who reports on our sleep studies and provides clinical recommendations as to treatment.

Dr. Schachter is also available for specialist consultations with patients prior to, and after, their sleep studies. General practitioners can refer their patients to our physicians for an assessment of patients' sleep disorders and/or to implement specific treatment for sleep disorders.

Sleep Disorders & Therapy

Sleep disorders can prevent some people from enjoying a good night's sleep.

Some Sleep disorders are serious enough to interfere with normal physical, mental and emotional performance.

Sleep disorders include a range of issues from bruxism (teeth grinding) to insomnia, jet lag, narcolepsy, sleep apnoea, snoring, restless legs syndrome and sleepwalking.

Lifestyle modifications can help alleviate mild symptoms if they are causing an unnecessary disturbance to your work and social life.

The more severe sleep disorders, such as Sleep Apnoea, Insomnia, Narcolepsy, may require therapies such as medication, Provent, dental appliances, CPAP or surgery.

Talk to your family doctor first about your sleep disorder. Severe sleep disorders should be investigated and treated at a Sleep Study Centre.

A sleep study is an overnight recording of your sleep, breathing, heart rate, leg movements and snoring for the diagnosis and evaluation of sleep disorders. Sleep studies can be performed either at home or in hospital. Sleep Services is the national provider of home-based sleep studies.
