Jenny’s love of obstetrics began as a medical student whilst living in at the Mercy Hospital for Women. She undertook elective placements in Dublin and Gloucester in the UK to be certain this was to be her future career. Whilst at Melbourne University she undertook an extra research year, (Bachelor of Medical Science) investigating the effect of Group B Streptococcal infection in pregnant women and their babies.
Jenny completed her undergraduate medical degree in 1985, worked at the Austin Hospital then took a year to travel and study before entering obstetrics and gynaecology specialist training program at the Royal Women’s. During this time she worked in several Melbourne Hospitals, Geelong and spent a year in the UK at Heatherwood Hospital, Ascot.
