The aim for CAPS Coolgardie is to disciple each student with the teachings of Jesus Christ. The purpose of CAPS Coolgardie is to see students discover God and be transformed through an exploration of themselves and his world so that they fulfill his purpose for them according to their gifts and talents.
The school motto 'A school that builds character' represents how all staff, parents/guardians and students grow together in Christ.
This character building encourages the student to grow towards a closer relationship with Jesus Christ as well as their friends, families and teachers.
CAPS Coolgardie focus is to raise the English and Maths standards of our students. CAPS staff encourages and challenges each student to reach their full potential by providing meaningful learning programs.
Christian Aboriginal Parent-Directed School (CAPS) Coolgardie.
CAPS Coolgardie is a k-12 school with boarding facilities for years 8-12 and is an independent school located 500 Km East of Perth with Kalgoorlie a major regional centre located 40 kms to the North East. CAPS Coolgardie has a strong tradition of promoting schooling for Indigenous students.
The school has classrooms to cater for years k-12 with a library and computer room for all year groups. The CAPS Hostel is walking distance from the school. The school is fully air-conditioned and has ample shade within the school grounds.
CAPS Coolgardie is currently building a Multifunction Centre that will include a basketball court, weights gym, kitchen, tutorial rooms, computer room, and upper secondary boys and girls dorms.

Lower Secondary Curriculum
CAPS Coolgardie curriculum is guided by the Western Australian Curriculum Framework.
The Curriculum Framework sets out what all students should know, understand, value and be able to do as a result of the curriculum program offered at CAPS Coolgardie.
This curriculum program includes the eight compulsory learning areas - english, maths, science, society and environment, health and physical education, the arts, technology and enterprise and LOTE.
All eight learning areas are covered by the subjects in the table below. Please note that LOTE is covered in primary school. . Please see Lower Secondary Curriculum Handbook for further information.
Upper Secondary Curriculum
CAPS Coolgardie offers the following types of courses and programs, all of which contribute to Secondary Graduation -
Courses can contribute to TAFE entry and/or an University Entrance Bridging Course.

Upper Secondary students are required to select the equivalent of five year-long courses, with two units of a course equivalent to one year-long course Students and parents are advised to monitor course progress during each semester and are welcome to access ongoing counselling from the Student Services staff.
