About Us
Care Outreach is a non-denominational Christian organisation with a vision to see ‘Transformed Lives and Communities in the Heart of Australia.’

The origins of Care Outreach date back to the early 1990’s when founders Bill and Melissa Close were in itinerant ministry to churches and communities throughout Australia. With a break in their schedule, they travelled to a region that was suffering from drought to offer practical assistance and ministry. It was during this trip that they were struck by the disadvantages faced by Bush people and the number of suicides among farm families

From then on, the focus of their ministry shifted to caring for the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of people in Rural and Remote Australia

By 1996 the organisation had grown to include many volunteers with a heart for Rural and Remote Australians, and so Care Outreach has expanded to the extent that today there are numerous volunteer teams undertaking year round visits, giving hands-on assistance and facilitating Community Events.
