The clinic was originally built to be the training centre for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and later became the RSPCA Animal Hospital and Clinic.
The Hospital was sold in the early 1980's and thus Belmont Avenue Veterinary Hospital began.
Today the complex incorporates the Belmont Avenue Veterinary Hospital, Belmont Boarding Cattery and Belmont Clipping and Grooming Salon.
Our attitude to petcare is reflected in our practice motto 'Your pet's health is our concern' and we pride ourselves on our professionalism and ability to provide quality veterinarycare to our clients.
Belmont Avenue Veterinary Hospital is a large, modern clinic, having recently undergone extensive renovations in the past 2 years allowing us to offer a full range of services.
As was mentioned previously, our Veterinary Surgeons have a wide range of interests and capabilities and the majority of problems can be treated in the clinic.
- General Consultations
- Soft Tissue and Orthopaedic Surgery
- Puppy Classes
- Behavioural Advice
- Clinical and General Pathology Services
- Referral Services to various Veterinary Specialists
- Pet Supplies including flea control and Vet Only diets
Belmont Boarding Cattery
Our cattery operates on an reservation type system, as it can get very busy during holidays. The cattery is open and airy, with large cages. Cats have access to an outside run, and also continual Veterinary Care if required.
Belmont Clipping and Grooming Salon
The grooming salon runs on an appointment basis.
The hours of business are Monday to Friday 7:30am to 7pm, with animals needing to be present at the clinic between 7:30am and 9am.
Pets go home from 12:30pm onwards on a first come first served basis although that depends on the type of dog and difficulty of the clip.
It is recommended that cats stay until 3:30pm as they are often more difficult to groom.
