The ACT Audit Office was established to assist the Auditor-General’s work, including conducting financial and performance audits. A simple guide to understanding the ACT Audit Office can be found here. The three operational areas of the ACT Audit Office are; Financial Audits; Performance Audits; and Professional Services. The Office comprises around 40 people including auditors and staff who provide services such as administration, financial management, reporting, human resources management, technical research, quality assurance and ICT support. The ACT Legislative Assembly and the local community rely on the ACT Audit Office to provide independent assurance on whether public money is being efficiently and effectively spent and whether financial and performance reports for the Territory and its agencies present a true and fair view of their performance.
