Within Australia is a Community Managed Mental Health Service delivering psychosocial rehabilitation, recovery services and educative programs to adults aged 16 to 64 with a severe and persistent mental illness, their families and carers.
Our programs and services are tailored to a person's individual needs, values and preferences and recognise the valuable role that families and carers play in supporting recovery.
Established in 1992, Within Australia delivers services throughout the East Gippsland, Wellington, South Gippsland and Bass Coast catchment.
Services We Offer
Within Australia work with adults aged 16 to 64, who have a mental illness, their families and carers to overcome barriers, regain hope, reconnect with their communities and realize goals. Our services are easy to navigate, collaborative, flexible and person-centred. Our focus is on supporting individuals to:
- Manage and live well with their symptoms
- Improve and sustain their physical health
- Improve their relationships with their family, friends and co-workers
- Achieve their education and employment goals
- Improve their daily living skills
- Address their housing issues
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way of providing individualised support for eligible people with permanent and significant disability, including psychosocial disabilities associated with a mental illness, their families and carers.
The NDIS provides disability support; it is not means tested and has no impact on income support such as the disability support pension and carers allowance.
