Wilmar's business activities include oil palm cultivation, oilseeds crushing, edible oils refining, sugar milling and refining, specialty fats, oleochemicals, biodiesel and fertilisers manufacturing, consumer pack edible oils processing and merchandising, soy protein manufacturing, rice and flour milling, and grains merchandising.
Our business strategy is founded on an integrated business model which encompasses the entire value chain of the agricultural commodity processing business, from origination, processing to branding, merchandising and distribution of a wide range of agricultural products. In addition, we have our own fleet of vessels serving an extensive distribution network of over 50 countries.
Wilmar expanded into the sugar business in 2010 through the acquisition of Sucrogen Limited (known today as Wilmar Sugar) in Australia - one of the world’s largest sugar companies, and PT Jawamanis Rafinasi - a leading sugar refiner in Indonesia. In 2011, Wilmar went on to acquire PT Duta Sugar International, one of eight licenced sugar refineries in Indonesia.
In the same year, through Sucrogen, we added Proserpine Mill, fifth largest sugar mill in Australia to its sugar business.
In addition, we produce ethanol as well as fertiliser using by-products from the milling operations. Wilmar’s sugar operations are vertically integrated and encompass origination, processing and a variety of distribution channels.
Wilmar's success is backed by a multinational workforce of about 90,000 people. Wilmar seeks to attract and retain employees who are able, honest and driven, through competitive compensation packages and excellent career development opportunities. We believe in creating a conducive and inspiring working environment that allows the development of every employee’s full potential.
Over the years, we have established a strong presence in some of the fastest growing economies of the world - China, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Africa and Eastern Europe. We welcome dynamic and driven individuals to join us and share our vision in creating one of the world's leading agribusiness.
