Student to Student (STS) is a locally owned business that provides in home private tuition to children of Primary and High School age in the Newcastle and Maitland regions. STS aims to provide you with a professional tutoring service at an affordable price, but also aims to ensure that as much of the cost of tutoring as possible is passed on to the tutors who are directly providing the service. All of STS’s tutors are university students, or have been in the past, who have a desire to help your child succeed in their chosen endeavours.
Most parents find it convenient to have the tutoring sessions in the comfort of their own home, as opposed to a private tutoring centre, and as such the majority of STS’s sessions are organised to be in a public space in your house. If you would prefer, however, tutoring can be organised to be in a public venue such as a library. Most tutoring sessions take place after school in the afternoon or evening, but we may also be able to organise morning or weekend sessions.
STS specialises in providing tutors for Primary and High School Students – from young children just starting in Kindergarten to year 12 students completing their Higher School Certificate. In addition to this, we also provide tutoring to university students in selected subjects.
STS provides tutoring from K-10 in subjects including English (Including reading, writing, spelling, and grammar), Maths, History, and Science. For HSC students in years 11 and 12, we can provide tutors for subjects including General Mathematics, 2 Unit Mathematics, 3 Unit Mathematics, 4-unit Mathematics, English Standard, English Advanced, English Extension, Physics, Biology, Senior Science, Chemistry, Ancient History, Modern History, Engineering Studies, and Drama.
STS is deeply committed to the safety of children. As such, all of STS’s tutors who work with children have a working with children check that I (Stuart – the owner/manager of Student to Student) have personally verified and are required to follow our Working with Children Policy and Code of Conduct. The details of your tutors WWC check will be provided to you along with an appropriate form of identification by your tutor upon your first tutoring session.
