How do I pay online?
The City of Stonnington's eServices allows you to perform selected Council transactions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can use eServices as a Guest User or Registered User to process payments. When are my council rates due for payment?
Stonnington Council offers the option of paying your rates in either 4 instalments or as a single lump sum. If ratepayers choose to pay in 4 instalments, the 1st payment, as shown on your rates notice, is due by the 30th September. The due dates for the 2016/2017 are - 1st instalment due 30 Sept 2016, 2nd instalment due 30 Nov 2016, 3rd instalment due 28 Feb 2017 & 4th instalment due 31 May 2017. If ratepayers choose to pay in 1 lump sum the due date is the 15 Feb 2017.
What are the parking rules on public holidays?
If a parking restriction which normally applies from Monday to Friday and a public holiday falls on either of those days (for example Monday), the parking restriction does not apply on that day (the Monday). However, if the parking sign does not specify any of the days, the parking restriction shown still applies regardless of public holidays and infringement notices may be issued if not adhered to. Drivers must check the parking signs carefully when parking on public holidays.
How do I dispose of my hard waste?
Stonnington Council provides 2 hard waste collections per year, 1 in Autumn & 1 in Spring. Find out your hard waste collection dates by searching your address using the Services Near Me link,, check for the brochure in your letterbox at least 2 weekends prior to collection or contact the council on 03 8290 1333. How do I register my pet with the council?
To register your cat or dog in the City of Stonnington please fill out the Animal Registration form & attach the necessary documents outlined in the form. You can return the form, along with payment, either in person or by post. To register in person visit one of our service centres, Malvern Town Hall or Prahran Town Hall, between 8.30am-5pm, Mon-Fri. To register via mail, make cheques/money order payable to City of Stonnington & the completed form & post to PO Box 21, Prahran VIC 3181.
