About the Redlands

The Redlands covers 539 square kilometres, offering a wonderful blend of island and coastal life with thriving urban centres and regionally significant bushland - all on the doorstep of busy, metropolitan Brisbane.

The Moreton Bay islands include the major tourist destination of North Stradbroke Island as well as Coochiemudlo, Russell, Lamb, Karragarra and Macleay Islands.

The mainland area includes Thorneside, Birkdale and Wellington Point in the north, Mt Cotton, Redland Bay and Point Talburpin in the south, Ormiston, Cleveland, Thornlands and Victoria Point in the east and Capalaba, Alexandra Hills and Sheldon in the west.

With a population of around 130,000, the Redlands is one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland.
