About Us

The jetty at Port Hughes is widely renowned as a fishing hot spot! Surveyed in 1863 and named after Sir Walter Watson Hughes, on whose land copper was first discovered, Port Hughes is ideally located just minutes from Moonta, Wallaroo and Kadina.

With its focus on recreation and outdoor living it makes a perfect getaway for couples and families alike. Like many other emerging towns on the Yorke Peninsula, Port Hughes is experiencing significant growth with modern developments attracting more and more new residents and holidaymakers. The Dunes Port Hughes is the largest development being built in the region, with its centrepiece being an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Australian golfing legend Greg Norman.

South Beach at Port Hughes is a very pretty and popular beach, and offers nice white sand, a jetty for fishing, and clear waters for swimming and boating. A stroll along the beach to Cape Elizabeth is a popular activity. You can also enjoy the local Port Hughes Coast Trail Walk from the Tipara Lighthouse to Simms Cove.
