The Pickled Sisters team is headed by husband and wife owners, Stewart Gilchrist and Marion Hansford, who moved to Rutherglen in 2004 with their two young sons to take over the cafe.
Classically trained and with over 30 years’ experience, Scottish born Stewart cooks what he enjoys to eat, with the emphasis on quality ingredients, clean flavours and the re-interpreting of classics. A self-confessed ‘sweet tooth’, Stewart’s desserts are not to be missed.
Marion is in charge of the front of house team. She and Stewart first met working at a local seafood restaurant on the Isle of Arran and it was here they fostered their love of local produce and dreamt of owning their own restaurant in the country, a dream that came to fruition at The Pickled Sisters Cafe, appropriately in Rutherglen with its own rich Scottish heritage and abundance of quality local produce.
