About Us

Welcome to the New England Girls’ School and St John’s Junior School website. Whether you are a first time visitor, browsing the net for potential school choices or an established member of the NEGS community, I hope that you enjoy the information presented. Please go directly to the St John’s Junior School website for information specifically about the education offerings for boys and girls from Transition to Year 6.

Our primary aim is to encourage each girl to develop into a self-confident, inquiring, tolerant, positive young woman, with an independent mind, who as an individual will respect the differences of others. By the time she leaves the school, we want each girl to have that true sense of self-worth that will enable her to stand up for a purpose greater than herself and in doing so, be of value to society.

NEGS is committed to an education based upon a credible Christian faith, a belief that all can learn to their full potential and the idea that a human being is an integrated whole of creative intellect, dynamic spirit and generous friendship, with the ability to act positively in the world. We seek to achieve our aims through a well-developed program in a rural setting of curricular and co-curricular activities in which everyone, both staff members and students, participate. The School is blessed with good facilities but even more so in the quality of the people working and learning here who care about each student in a friendly environment. This website will enable you to get more of an idea for what the School stands and the wide range of its activities offered.

We look forward to you contacting us fora visit and for more information about this fine school.
