FAQs
What is the CASPer test?
The CASPer test is an online screening tool designed to evaluate key personal and professional characteristics.
Why do I need to complete a CASPer test?
Traditional evaluations of personal characteristics (e.g. standard interviews, reference letters and personal essays) have shown to be ineffective in discerning good applicants. CASPer increases fairness in applicant evaluation by providing admissions and selection committees with a reliable measure of traits like professionalism, ethics, communication, and empathy.
How long is the CASPer test?
Plan on approximately 90 minutes for the CASPer test, which will include the introduction, about 65 minutes of questions, and an optional break at the halfway point. Please make sure to register for the test at least three days before your preferred test date and time to allow for account verification and payment processing timelines. Last minute bookings are not recommended.
Who will receive my test results?
Your CASPer scores will be sent only to those programs you select for results distribution. You will not receive your CASPer score, in the same way you would not expect to get "results" from an interview, reference letter, or personal statement.
How long will my CASPer results be valid for?
Your CASPer results are only valid for a single application cycle, and only for the program type (Med, Nursing, etc…) for which you have written the test. You will need to write a separate CASPer test for future application cycles or different program types.
How will my test results be used?
CASPer scores are used in different ways by different programs. The CASPer test results will be used to make up a threshold score which will accompany your ATAR or academic results. Additionally, depersonalised (anonymised) data may be used for research purposes, while strictly adhering to legal and ethical research standards.
