Howmans Gap Alpine Centre

Howmans Gap Alpine Centre is happily situated on the Bogong High Plains, about 4km below Falls Creek resort, surrounded by tall ash bushland.

Howmans Gap is the only YMCA Camp to offer snow and ski programs in winter and is a great place for groups to discover the Alpine region.

Activities

The YMCA aims to provide opportunities for self-discovery and teamwork through facilitation of unique camping experiences. Our qualified program instructors will lead groups through our many activities.

Activities offered at Howmans Gap utilise the alpine environment, local attractions and natural space at the camp.

Activity programs are fully tailored to your group's needs and experience and are decided in consultation with your group leaders. When you book your camp, a camp leader will assist you in selecting programs that will meet the desired learning outcomes for each group.

Howmans Gap Alpine Centre offers accommodation options for groups of up to 208 people. Situated above the snowline in winter, Howmans Gap accommodation will keep you warm and comfortable all year round.

Howmans Gap camp offers accommodation across two main accommodation blocks, one Alpine Accessible building and two small house accommodation options.

All accommodation is fully heated to ensure comfort all year round.

Accommodation blocks have been custom designed to provide wheelchair access, including games room, showers and toilets.

Just because you are on camp and away from home doesn't mean you shouldn't eat just as healthy as you do normally. Howmans Gap Alpine Centre provides nutritious, healthy, delicious food that will suit everyone's tastes.

Howmans Gap serve a great range of food in a large comfortable dining area that seats up to 180 people.

Meal times are an opportunity for your group to enhance relationships, relax and enjoy each other's company. We take great care in tailoring our catering services to meet your needs.

Fully cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner is supplemented by morning, afternoon tea and supper. In addition, coffee, tea, cordial and fruit are available at all times.
