About Us

Goulburn Valley Libraries provide library services to the Greater Shepparton City Council and the Shires of Moira and Strathbogie. We have 10 branches and a mobile library service.

The Board
Goulburn Valley Libraries is governed by an independent Board. The Board’s responsibilities and authorities include policy development, strategic and corporate planning and service evaluation.

This page contains our Annual Report, budgets, plans and other governance-related documents.

Our policies inform our services, programs and initiatives and provide guidelines on practical matters such as privacy and accessing our computers.

Esmart Libraries
Being an eSmart Library means that we are fully equipped to connect library users with the skills they need for the smart, safe and responsible use of technology.

How do I join?
Membership of Goulburn Valley Libraries is free. Simply fill out a membership form at any branch and provide verification of your current address. If you are under 18 years of age, you will need a parent or guardian to sign their membership form as guarantor. Please bring your card each time you wish to borrow. You can also complete the Online Registration Form and then visit the library to pick up your membership card.
What time are you open?
Opening times for our branches can be found at Locations. The Mobile Library timetable is also available.
What can I borrow and for how long?
When you are visiting the library, you can have unlimited loans. Books and audiobooks are loaned for four weeks, while DVDs and magazines have a two-week loan period.
What if I haven't finished my book but it is due back?
You can renew items twice, provided the item is not already overdue, or is required by another member. You can renew items at your local branch over the phone, or online by choosing 'My Account' at the top of the page. Log on using your membership number and PIN, go to checkouts and simply select the items you want to renew.
Can I renew my loans?
If your loans are not yet overdue, you can renew them yourself by following the 'My Account' link at top and logging in using your library card barcode number and your PIN - call any branch to get your PIN if you don't know it. If you do not see the 'Log In' box appear, please see the "Can't see the Log in box?" section to fix this. Click on the 'Checkouts' tab to see what items you have out. Tick the ones you want to renew, then click 'Renew'.
What if I don't know my PIN?
You can contact us and our friendly staff will be able to help, or use our Online PIN Reset page to reset it. You must have provided us your email address to receive the reset message. Once you are logged in to 'My Account', you can change your PIN at any time.
Can I return my items when the library is closed?
All our branch libraries have all-hours book chutes, so you can return your items at any time - and to any branch.
How do I reserve a book?
You can place a hold by logging in to 'My Account' using the barcode number on your library card and your PIN. Search the catalogue for the item you want and when you have found it, choose 'Place Hold' from the 'Select an Action' menu to the right of the screen. Select the branch where you want to collect the item. You will be notified when the item is available. Our friendly staff are also happy to help place holds for you over the phone on 1300 674 765 or at a branch library.
What if I can't find the book I want?
Once you are logged in to 'My Account', you can send us a request using the 'Send a Request' link at the top of the page. Please provide as much information as possible so we can locate the book for you.
Do you accept donations?
Donations of books or money are gratefully accepted. All items will be assessed and if we think they don't meet our selection criteria, we will include them in library book sales. Donations of money, or bequests, are also accepted and are tax deductible.
How does the library handle my personal information?
The library takes your privacy very seriously. Our Public Privacy Statement can be found at our Policies page.
