A water management system integrated within the matrix
The Vulcan 26 mm is the first core bit to feature a water management system. Using underbridge destructible barriers that extend from the bridge to the crown, this patented system ensures that drilling debris flow to the end of the tool, making it possible to maximize every millimetre of the matrix.
The first entirely mechanical core orientation system
The CorientR is an entirely mechanical core orientation system. It uses the power of gravity and features a double verification system to ensure an accurate reading. Geologists will find the readings more reliable, which is an important aspect of drilling equipment.

When it was founded in 1977, the original vision for Fordia was simple: develop state of the art manufacturing facilities, produce superior products, and provide responsive customer service.
For Fordia's founder, Clement Paquet, making that vision reality was a challenge that took several years to meet.
It required the assistance of a network of global contacts within the diamond drilling industry as well as significant investments.
At the beginning, Clement, along with his assistant and a furnace operator, ran the entire company, establishing the manufacturing and quality control processes, laying the foundations for the global company Fordia has become today.
