Forbes Machinery Centre commenced operations in May 1987 at its present site. Robert McKeown, Ken Sly & Ian Davies made up the staff of three. Ian & Ken in the Service area with Bob in Spare parts.
The early years were very challenging with long days and not much behind them as they struggled to build the business and attract clientele. In time they started to build momentum initially selling Deutz & John Shearer products. This expanded over the ensuing years to include Fiat, Ford and then the New Holland brand.
From early 2000, saw a period of rapid expansion. Cowra Machinery Centre commenced operations. Administration, Sales & Spare parts areas were expanded and modernised. A new shed was built which doubled the workshop capacity. Agco representing the Massey Ferguson/Fendt range was introduced as well as the very popular supreme Mixers imported direct from Canada.
Today the business has evolved into a market leader within the Forbes District and surrounding areas. From humble beginnings the Directors have grown Forbes Machinery into a successful and well respected icon now employing fourteen people.
