AT A GLANCE
Fairview Village is a not for profit (NFP) community organisation founded over sixty years ago to initially provide accommodation services to elders of the local community.
The organisation is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors made up of committed and skilled community members. Fairview Village employs a professional team of staff across a broad range of occupations in managing the day to day life of the organisation and the Fairview Community.
Through our retirement village, we provide access to modern architect designed purpose built villa units and apartments which provide comfort and all the benefits of living in a retirement village. The village's community life allows elders as much social and recreational activity as suits their preferences. Fairview Village Independent Living Unit and Apartment residents' also have access to a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week emergency nurse call system.
Fairview Village is an approved Home Care Package Provider. A Home Care Package is a government subsidised home-based service that supports and empowers elders to maintain their independence whilst continuing to live independently in the community and indeed for people living in our retirement village. Fairview Village is also an approved provider of Veteran's home care services
Fairview Village provides permanent residential care as well as providing short and long-term respite care. Importantly we provide ageing in place, which normally enables residents to remain at Fairview Village in our residential aged care facility despite changing health and support needs. Excellence is the only acceptable standard for health, personal care and lifestyle/leisure choices at Fairview Village.
We offer an extensive lifestyle program developed to meet the individual needs of each resident. Services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Unlike many other facilities, our lifestyle program extends to 7 days a week.
Community Education & Advocacy Functions
These are designed to promote the needs and interests of elders in the Baw Baw Community. This involves facilitating forums, participating in professional networks and the preparation of educational materials. Our work in these areas in recent years has culminated in the development of the Baw Baw Aged Services Strategy and the Tackling Dementia Together Program.
