Cranes Community Support Programs is a not-for-profit community based organisation that assists in the identification and analysis of community needs. We are committed to developing and delivering exemplary services by promoting quality life choices in a supportive community environment.
In 1988 a group of progressive workers from both the government and non-government sectors incorporated the Clarence Valley Interagency Association under the New South Wales Associations Incorporations Act (1984) to address pressures faced by isolated communities and small rural organisations and to meet gaps in services. This organisation provided a framework for disparate community groups to join together to better meet the needs of the Clarence Valley and Northern Table Lands communities.
Since our inception, other community organisations have merged with us to form today’s Cranes Community Support Programs. The vision of providing seamless service to individuals and communities, of meeting the increased demands of financial and managerial capacity, of more effective resource utilisation, of continuous quality improvement and of enhanced accountability is being realised.
To achieve just and inclusive outcomes, we work closely with, and are answerable to our communities through our governance and accountability structures and our commitment to equity and transparency. We seek to provide services responsive to an individual's needs with a focus on professionalism, timely intervention, quality relationships, self-reliance and prevention.
We respond to an individual’s aspirations when structuring service delivery with paid and unpaid staff acknowledging the paramount need to listen and to frame services to meet individual needs. This integrated client focus informs our relationships with funding bodies and other community stakeholders. It positions us well to advocate for social justice and the rights of people to actively participate in decisions that affect their capacity to live full and valued lives.
We are continually refining our consultative processes, professional development opportunities and service delivery models. We harness the goodwill and expertise of clients and staff, board members and urban, remote and regional communities and individuals to:
- Increase community capacity;
- Reduce inequalities;
- Promote resilience and well-being;
- Improve and reshape services;
- Develop professional expertise and skills;
- Enhance participation of communities in service provision, and
- Prevent reliance on high cost residual services.
