Vinnies Centres provide furniture, clothing and household goods to families and people who are in need and are being assisted by conference members. Centres are also a valuable resource for people on low incomes, enabling them to buy quality clothing, furniture and other household items at an affordable price.

The profit from the sale of stock from the Vinnies Centres goes directly towards providing resources and support to people in need. Much of this money is used to buy food for local families in need.

About our shops

The St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland has approximately 130 Vinnies Retail Centres throughout Queensland offering a range of low cost clothing and household items allowing people to shop with dignity.

Our Vinnies Retail Centres provide the means whereby donated goods are collected, sorted and cleaned. Goods not required by our Conferences are sold in the Vinnies stores, and the proceeds go directly to the people we assist.

In addition to our Retail Centres, we have depots that sort, store and transport donations where needed. Donations of gifts-in-kind are always first given to those in need.

The St Vincent de Paul Societies in Australia are each endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient and therefore gifts of two dollars or more to the Society in each State or Territory are tax deductible for the donor (some conditions apply).

Please note that gifts in-kind, including property purchased in the previous 12 months, gifts of shares valued at $5,000 or less and gifts of trading stock, may be tax deductible subject to certain conditions. For details of the conditions, please visit the ATO's web site by clicking here.
