What Is Wealth Building?
Wealth is not income, although we live in a highly income-focused world. In order to build real wealth - and financial freedom - we need to acquire substantial assets for capital growth.
The tough truth is that you don't build wealth by buying one investment property. If you buy wisely, you'll certainly see some capital growth - maybe more than your shares, in recent times.
But serious wealth building only comes from duplication: buying an investment property, watching it grow in value, accessing your increased equity - and purchasing another investment property. If you keep buying wisely, and structure your finances right, you can duplicate this process again and again.

Books - Wealth Building Education
In 1998, John Fitzgerald put his years of experience and success into writing for a wide audience of 'ordinary' Australians. Seven Steps to Wealth (all the things they don't tell you about property investment) has become the foundational guide for anyone who wants to invest in property in Australia.
Reader response was massive. Not just in the sphere of wealth building - although there was a lot of that going on! Somehow, the chapter 'Be all you can be' had struck a chord... We Can Be Heroes goes deeper into this issue of why to build wealth - for those who want to make a difference, as well as money...
Why Invest In Property?
A lot of people will try to tell you that shares are a better investment than property. It's true that some shares show a higher income return. They are easily tradeable, and shares in the major companies have the advantage of high liquidity: they're practically cash.
The key is leverage.
Let's assume that in the first year, the value of Bill's property increases by 9.8% - and Ted's shares go up by 12.6%. Which is the better investment?
